Glenn founded Birket Engineering in Los Angeles, California in 1984, incorporated it in Orlando, Florida on January 1, 1991, and remains active in the daily operations of the business.

Glenn is an active member of the NFPA Technical Committee for Special-Effects which is responsible for the content of NFPA 160, Standard for Flame Effects Before Proximate Audience, and NFPA 1126, Standard for the Use of Pyrotechnics Before Proximate Audience. He is also a voting member of ASTM Technical Committee F24, which is responsible for the ASTM Standards on Amusement Rides & Devices.

Glenn has over 30 years of experience in the themed entertainment industry. While a student he worked 5 years as an attraction operator, trainer and lead at Walt Disney World. After graduating with a BSEE, cum laude, from the University of Central Florida in 1979, he joined Walt Disney Imagineering (WED Enterprises at the time). There he served as the project engineer for control systems on EPCOT's ambitious $60M American Adventure pavilion, one of the most complex of Disney’s projects to that date. He designed controls for heavy stage machinery, hydraulics, motor drives, animation, rigging, projection, special effects, and lighting applications. After the opening of EPCOT, he remained to lead the field engineering office supporting all projects at the $1.2B park. He left Disney in 1984 as a Group Leader in the Ride Control section of the Electronic Engineering Department.
