EuroParque: "A Cidade dos Eventos"

Literally translated: "A City of Events," Europarque Economic and Cultural Center plays host to many of Portugal’s finest events. Conveniently housed in a single massive structure located on the shore of Oporto is a Science Center, Sports Center, Convention Area, and Main Auditorium, as well as restaurants and shopping areas.

Birket provided the rigging system for the main auditorium. This auditorium is used for concerts, musicals, dancing and other cultural and artistic events. The auditorium is designed to seat up to 1,500 people. There are three stage elevators and an orchestra pit for 110 musicians.

Birket Engineering’s Rigging Control System is responsible for the control of:

(20) Point Hoists-fixed speed AC motors, gear reducers, motor brakes, cable drum & swivel blocks. These motors may operate individually or synchronously as a part of user-defined groups. Each winch is comprised of a full voltage reversing starter with isolator, thermal overload, local up and down pushbuttons, and interface electronics for the computer control system.
